WP1 - Project Coordination

Project Coordination

WP1 was responsible for all project administrative, technical coordination, innovation management, and quality management. WP1 had a series of complementary tasks each of which focused on a particular management aspect of the project. In addition to administrative and technical project coordination, this WP dealt with the management of project innovations, including IPR, with the inclusion of a dedicated Innovation Manager role.

WP2 - Requirements and Architecture

The overall goal of WP2 was to identify the project requirements, scenarios and use cases which drove all project technical activities. A set of initial scenarios was developed by the project team, and these were used as the basis for our requirements, focusing on business, stakeholder and technical aspects. Additionally this work package specified all technical decisions and architectural viewpoints of the CogNet system.

WP3 - Advanced Machine Learning for Data Filtering, Classification and Prediction

WP3 focused on the development and adaption of Machine Learning algorithms to filter, classify and develop insights into the data that was used to fulfil the use cases which were researched in WP4 and WP5.

WP4

Network Resource Management

WP4 - Network Resource Management

WP4 and WP5 represented some the core applications of the CogNet project. WP4 focused on the application of Machine Learning to Resource Requirement Prediction and Efficiency for Telecoms Networks with the particular application being the autonomic management of resources for Network Function Virtualisation.

Network Security & Resilience

WP5

WP5 focused on the application of Machine Learning to Security issues (including fraud detection, intruder detection, subversion of machine purpose) and Network Resilience (Error detection and correction, performance degradation and correction). This research also fed into applications in Autonomic network management.

WP6

Validation & Integration

WP6 - Validation & Integration

The objective of WP6 was to integrate all developed software components and to carry out test and validation. WP6 also focused on integration of the core CogNet system with complementary technologies with a particular focus on data visualisation, and on the development of a number of exemplar demonstrators to highlight the value of the key CogNet innovations.

Dissemination, standardization, exploitation & techno-economic analysis

WP7 - Dissemination, standardization, exploitation & techno-economic analysis

WP7 was dedicated to the dissemination and exploitation of project results. Dissemination and exploitation was a key element in the project. The objective was to reach out to relevant communities of stakeholders through a comprehensive dissemination and communication strategy.
